Coal tar, salicylic acid.
The active constituents of IONIL T are coal tar solution, 4.25 % and salicylic acid, 2.0 %.
IONIL T shampoo is indicated for the relief of the itching and flaking associated with dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis of the scalp.
Massage IONIL T Shampoo into wet hair.
Do not expect as much initial sudsing as with anionic non-medicated shampoos.
Rinse, then apply IONIL T again and massage into a lather.
Allow to remain in hair for about five minutes before rinsing.
May be used daily or as directed by the physician.
For best results, use no soap, detergent or other shampoo on hair before or after using IONIL T.
Avoid contact with eyes.
Upon accidental contact with eyes flush with clear water.
For external use only.
Keep this and all drugs out of reach of children. Do not use on children under 2 years of age except as directed by a doctor.
If accidentally ingested seek professional assistance immediately.
Contact dermatitis and scalp irritation have been reported in the literature following the topical use of coal tar and salicylates. Such adverse reactions would not therefore be unexpected following the use of a preparation such as IONIL T.
If excessive irritation develops, discontinue use and consult the Doctor or Pharmacist.
Store at room temperature away from other medicines and food.
