Description
1 g Kamistad-Gel N contains: Medicinally active ingredients according to nature and amount: Lidocaine HCl 1 H2O 20 mg, chamomile flower extract (1:4-5) 185 mg.
Other active ingredients according to nature and amount: Benzalkonium chloride 1 mg as preservative.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: Cinnamon oil, saccharin sodium 2 H2O, carbomers, tromethamol, anhydrous formic acid 98%, ethanol 96%, purified water.
Action
Kamistad-Gel N is an oral therapeutic in gel form for the treatment of painful and inflammatory processes of the gums, the oral mucous membrane and the lips.
Due to its local anaesthetic and disinfecting properties, the oral balsam is also suitable for denture wearers for rubbing into pressure points and for the excessive sensation of a foreign body during the acclimatization period.
The special surface anaesthetic lidocaine hydrochloride contained in Kamistad-Gel N effects rapid and lasting alleviation of pain, which is particularly useful for inflammations of the oral mucous membrane and gums.
Kamistad-Gel N also contains chamomile flower extract, with the known antiphlogistic properties of this medicinal plant.
The gel base chosen for Kamistad-Gel N is very easy to spread and adheres well to the mucous membrane.
Indications/Uses
Painful inflammations of mucous membrane and lips, even in the presence of vesiculation, gingivitis and glacial erythema of the lips. For denture wearers, for rubbing into the gums and roof of the mouth at pressure points and in the event of hypersensitivity and irritation of the mucous membrane.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Unless otherwise directed, for treatment of the gums apply an approximately ½ cm ribbon of Kamistad-Gel N 3 times a day to painful or inflamed areas and massage gently. For symptoms caused by dentures, especially during the acclimatization period, rub pressure points with an approximately pea-sized piece of Kamistad-Gel N.
Chamomile/Lidocaine should not be used in children below 12 years of age.
Special Precautions
Life-threatening and fatal events in infants and young children: Postmarketing cases of seizures, cardiopulmonary arrest, and death in patients under the age of 3 years have been reported with use of lignocaine 2% viscous solution for topical oral use when it was not administered in strict adherence to the dosing and administration recommendations. Kamistad-Gel N should not be used to treat infants and children with teething pain. For other conditions, the use of the product in patients less than 3 years of age should be limited to those situations where safer alternatives are not available or have been tried but failed. Kamistad-Gel N should only be used for the prescribed indication by a doctor.
To decrease the risk of serious adverse events with use of Kamistad-Gel N, instruct caregivers to strictly adhere to the prescribed dose and frequency of administration by a doctor, and store the prescription bottle safely out of reach of children.
The use of the product of treatment of teething pain in infants and children should be abandoned.
