Treatment of corneal ulcers, conjunctivitis & blepharitis caused by susceptible strains of bacteria in adults & childn ≥12 mth.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Corneal ulcers Instill 2 drops into the affected eye every 15 min for the first 6 hr, then 2 drops for every 30 min for the remainder of the 1st day; 2 drops hrly on the 2nd day; 2 drops 4 hrly on the 3rd-14th day. Bacterial conjunctivitis/blepharitis Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac(s) 2 hrly while awake for 2 days & 1 drop 4 hrly while awake for the next 5 days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin & other quinolones including nalidixic acid.
Special Precautions
Serious & occasional anaphylactic reactions following the 1st dose. Avoid excessive sunlight & prolonged use. Discontinue therapy at the 1st appearance of a skin rash or any other sign of hypersensitivity reaction. Patients w/ bacterial corneal ulcer. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <1 yr.
