Anxiety related to insomnia. Muscle relaxant for treatment of alcohol w/drawal & relief of epileptic seizures. To sedate patients undergoing certain uncomfortable medical procedures.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Status epilepticusAdult & childn 5-10 mg IV at rate of >10 mg/min. May repeat at intervals of 10-15 min. Max: 30 mg. Anxiety 2-20 mg IV. May repeat in 3-4 hr. Tetanus 2-20 mg IV at interval of 2-8 hr.
Special Precautions
Severe resp diseases. Impaired kidney or liver function. Prolonged use. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness, confusional state in elderly, skin rashes.
