Xylometazoline HCl
Indications/Uses
Seasonal & non-seasonal allergic rhinitis, chronic & acute (due to common cold) rhinitis, sinusitis, resp tract infection & allergies in adult & childn >6 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn ≥12 yr
Spray 1-2 puffs in each nostril every 8-10 hr. Max duration: 3-5 days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Rhinitis sicca. Childn <6 yr.
Special Precautions
CV disease, narrow-angle glaucoma, DM, HTN, pheochromocytoma, prostatic enlargement, thyroid disease.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting; headache; insomnia; vertigo, fatigue; rebound congestion; rhinitis medicamentosa.
