Anagrelide HCl
Indications/Uses
Essential thrombocythaemia to reduce elevated platelet counts.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 1 mg/day in 2 divided doses for at least 1 wk. Dosage increment must not exceed >0.5 mg/day in any 1 wk. Max dose: 2.5 mg as single dose.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Moderate or severe renal & hepatic impairment.
Special Precautions
Monitor full blood count, renal & liver function. Known or suspected CV disease. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Headache. Anaemia, fluid retention, dizziness, palpitations, tachycardia, nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, flatulence, vomiting, rash, fatigue.
Drug Interactions
Fluvoxamine, omeprazole, theophylline, milrinone, enoximone, amrinone, olprinone, cilostazol, OCs, grapefruit juice, ASA.
