Indications/Uses
Infections caused by pneumococci & staphylococci.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 250-500 mg 6 hrly.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take at least 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to penicillins.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins, jaundiced neonates, infant, renal impairment, lymphatic leukemia.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances eg, nausea, vomiting, epigastric discomfort, flatulence & loose stools.
Drug Interactions
Probenecid impairs renal excretion. Decreases anticoagulant effect.
