Clomiphene citrate

Indications/Uses

Ovulation defects. Functional amenorrhea.

Dosage/Direction for Use

1st course: 1 tab daily for 5 days starting on the 5th day of the cycle. 2nd course: 2 tab daily for 5 days.

Administration

May be taken with or without food.

Contraindications

Pregnancy; liver disease; undiagnosed abnormal uterine bleeding; visual symptoms during previous treatment w/ clomiphene; causes of infertility other than ovarian dysfunction, ovarian cysts (except polycystic ovary disease). Primary ovarian or pituitary failure.

Special Precautions

Polycystic ovary disease.

Adverse Reactions

Dose-related hot flushes; abdominal discomfort; blurred vision; ovarian enlargement; allergic rash, urticaria; CNS disturbances; abnormal LFTs; multiple pregnancies.
