Indications/Uses
RA, OA, ankylosing spondylitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
FC tab Adult 400-800 mg tid to qid. Max dose: 3.2 g/day. Duration: <10 days. Susp Childn 12 yr 10 mL qid, 5-11 yr 5-10 mL qid, 1-4 yr 2.5 mL qid, >2 yr 30-40 mg/kg/day divided dose to qid.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Patients sensitive to aspirin & other NSAIDs. Lactation.
Special Precautions
Asthma or bronchospasm, bleeding disorders, CV disease, peptic ulceration. Renal failure. Pregnancy. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances & bleeding, peptic ulceration; headache, dizziness, nervousness, depression, drowsiness, skin rash, pruritus, tinnitus, edema, insomnia, blurred vision; liver & kidney impairment, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia.
Drug Interactions
NSAIDs increases plasma conc of lithium, MTX. May reduce effects of diuretics, β-blockers. May prolong bleeding time & increases plasma conc of warfarin & may alter plasma conc of phenytoin, sulfonylureas (monitor).
