Indications/Uses
Agammaglobulinemia, hypogammaglobulinemia & in combination w/ antibiotics for severe infections. Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Kawasaki disease. Guillain-Barré syndrome.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Agammaglobulinemia, hypogammaglobulinemia & combination therapy w/ antibiotics for severe infections Adult 2,500-5,000 mg as single dose IV. Childn 100-150 mg/kg as single dose IV instillation or inj (very slowly). Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura 200-400 mg/kg/day. Kawasaki disease & Guillain-Barré syndrome 400 mg/kg/day for 5 consecutive days.
Special Precautions
IgA deficiency. Renal disorder, hemolytic or hemorrhagic anemia, immunodeficiency or immunodepression. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Shock, dyspnea, wheezing, chest tightness, hypotension or bradycardia; headache, fever, nausea, vomiting, rash, pruritus, diarrhea, flush, local edema; increase GOT or GPT; acute renal failure, increase creatinine & BUN.
