Indications/Uses
Acute lymphatic leukaemia, mammary, ovarian & bronchial carcinoma, chorion epithelioma, tumours of head & neck, testicular tumours, osteosarcoma, leukaemic meningo-encephalomyelopathy, refractory psoriasis vulgaris. Autoimmune diseases.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab Malignant tumors & haemoblastoses Individualized dosage. Psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis & autoimmunopathies Wkly dosage: 10-25 mg. Start w/ 2.5-7.5 mg, increased to 25 mg wkly. Divided oral dosage: 2.5 mg 12 hrly for 3 doses/wk. Vial Dilute to a soln containing 1-2% MTX. Dosage individually adapted to each patient. By IV infusion.
Contraindications
Pregnancy. Diseases of the hematopoietic system. Recent operation wounds.
Special Precautions
Infection, peptic ulcer, ulcerative colitis, debility & extreme youth & old age, liver & kidney dysfunction.
Adverse Reactions
Ulcerative stomatitis, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, nausea & abdominal distress.
Drug Interactions
Folic acid. Salicylates, phenylbutazone, phenytoin, barbiturates, sulfonamides, corticosteroids, tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, PABA, p-aminohippuric acid or probenecid.
