Indications/Uses
Chronic resp disease eg, bronchial asthma & COPD.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab Adult 400 mg bid to tid. Syr Adult 400 mg bid. Childn 12-18 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses. Elderly 200 mg bid.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Severe hepatic impairment, end-stage CHF, active peptic ulcer. Pregnancy & lactation. Very elderly w/ hepatic impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Occasionally, nausea, vomiting, headache, irritability, insomnia, palpitations, tachycardia.
Drug Interactions
Other xanthine derivatives, ephedrine, phenytoin & other anticonvulsants, erythromycin, troleandomycin, lincomycin, clindamycin, allopurinol, cimetidine, ranitidine, propranolol, flu vaccine.
