Indications/Uses
Prevention of angina pectoris due to CAD.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Recommended starting dose: 60 mg once daily in the morning. To minimize the possibility of headache, initiate w/ 30 mg for the 1st 3-4 days.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Special Precautions
Severe hypotension. Vol depleted patient. Paradoxical bradycardia & increased angina pectoris. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Flushing, dizziness, tachycardia, throbbing headache, blurred vision. In large doses: Vomiting, restlessness, hypotension
Drug Interactions
Alcohol. Increased serum conc & action w/ aspirin. Decreased effect w/ Ca-channel blockers. Increased bioavailability of dihydroergotamine. Decreased pharmacologic effects of heparin.
