Contents
Per 5 mL Brompheniramine maleate 4 mg, phenylephrine HCl 10 mg
Indications/Uses
For antihistaminic & nasal decongestion of rhinitis, asthma & hay fever.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1-2 tsp. Childn ½ to 1 tsp. All doses to be taken tid to qid.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hyperthyroidism, HTN, coronary disease. Concurrent use or use w/in 2 wk of MAOIs. Difficulty in urinating due to prostate enlargement or bladder obstruction. Lower resp tract disease, brain damage, epilepsy. Pregnancy, lactation, newborn or premature infants.
Special Precautions
Glaucoma, asthma, cardiac disease, diabetes. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Large doses may precipitate seizures in epileptics.
Adverse Reactions
Severe HTN, palpitation, drowsiness, lassitude, nausea, giddiness, dry mouth, mydriasis, increased irritability or excitement. Restlessness, nervousness, insomnia.
Drug Interactions
Actions prolonged by MAOIs. Potentiates effects of other CNS depressants. Atropine-like effects potentiated by other anticholinergics & tricyclic antidepressants.
