Indications/Uses
Flu in patients ≥12 yr who have been symptomatic for no >48 hr, & at high risk of developing flu complications. Post-exposure prophylaxis of flu in individuals ≥12 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Flu Take as single dose as soon as possible w/in 48 hr of symptom onset. Post-exposure prophylaxis of flu Take as single dose as soon as possible w/in 48 hr following close contact w/ individual known or suspected to have flu. Adult & adolescent ≥ 12 yr weighing ≥80 kg 80 mg/40 mL (2 bottles) as single dose, <80 kg 40 mg/20 mL (1 bottle) as single dose.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Take w/ water. Do not take w/ laxatives, antacids or oral supplements containing polyvalent cations (eg, Fe, Zn, Se, Ca or Mg).
Special Precautions
Contains Na equiv to 1.2% of recommended max daily dietary Na intake. Galactose intolerance, total lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh class C). Avoid use during pregnancy. Lactation. Childn <12 yr.
Drug Interactions
Decreased plasma conc w/ products containing polyvalent cations eg, laxatives, antacids or oral supplements containing Fe, Zn, Se, Ca or Mg.
