Amlodipine maleate
Indications/Uses
HTN, myocardial ischemia due to variant angina or obstructive CAD (chronic stable angina).
Dosage/Direction for Use
5 mg once daily. Max: 10 mg once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to amlodipine or other dihydropyridines. Patients w/ severe aortostenosis. Shock patients. Patients w/ severe liver impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Severe hypotensive patients. Mild BP depressant action after discontinuation. Not recommended in patients w/ unstable angina who needed emergency care. Patients w/ renal impairment who needed dialysis. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Flushing; fatigue; edema; vertigo, headache; abdominal pain, vomiting; tachycardia; dizziness.
