Each 5- and 10-mg film-coated tablet contains donepezil HCl 5 and 10 mg equivalent to donepezil free base 4.56 and 9.12 mg, respectively.
Aricept also contains the following inactive ingredients: Lactose monohydrate, 87.17 (for 5-mg tablet) and 174.33 mg (for 10-mg tablet), maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose and magnesium stearate. The film coating contains talc, macrogol, hypromellose and titanium dioxide. Additionally, the 10-mg tablet contains yellow iron oxide.
