Adult, childn & infant ≥3 mth Treatment of inflammatory dermatoses Apply a thin layer & gently rub in using only enough to cover the entire affected area, once daily or bd for up to 4 wk until improvement occurs, then reduce frequency of application or change the treatment to a less potent prep. Allow adequate time for absorption after each application before applying an emollient.
Atopic dermatitis Therapy w/ topical corticosteroids should be gradually discontinued once control is achieved & an emollient continued as maintenance therapy.
Reduction of the risk of relapse Once an acute episode has been treated effectively, application frequency should be reduced to once daily application, twice wkly, w/o occlusion. This should be combined w/ routine daily use of emollients.
