Tab Adult & adolescent ≥12 yr Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis 40 mg once daily for 4 wk. An additional 4 wk for patients in whom esophagitis has not healed or have persistent symptoms.
Long-term management w/ healed esophagitis to prevent relapse 20 mg once daily.
Symptomatic treatment of GERD 20 mg once daily in patients w/o esophagitis. If symptom control has not been achieved after 4 wk, the patient should be further investigated.
Adult In combination w/ an appropriate antibacterial therapeutic regimen for the eradication of H. pylori Healing of
H. pylori associated duodenal ulcer or as prevention of relapse of peptic ulcers in patients w/
H. pylori associated ulcers: esomeprazole 20 mg w/ amoxicillin 1 g & clarithromycin 500 mg, all bd for 7 days.
Patient requiring continued NSAID therapy Healing of gastric ulcers associated w/ NSAID therapy 20 mg once daily for 4-8 wk.
Prevention of gastric & duodenal ulcers associated w/ NSAID therapy in patients at risk 20 mg once daily.
Prolonged treatment after IV induced prevention of rebleeding of peptic ulcers 40 mg once daily for 4 wk after IV induced prevention of rebleeding of peptic ulcers.
Treatment of Zollinger Ellison Syndrome 40 mg bd initially, 80-160 mg daily for maintenance, w/ doses >80 mg daily, doses should be divided & given bd.
Granules (sachet) Treatment of endoscopically proven erosive reflux esophagitis Childn 1-11 yr w/ body wt of ≥10 kg to <20 kg 10 mg once daily for 8 wk.
Childn 1-11 yr w/ body wt ≥20 kg 10 mg or 20 mg once daily for 8 wk.
Symptomatic treatment of GERD 10 mg once daily for up to 8 wk.
