Indications/Uses
Prevention of premature LH surges in women undergoing controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) for assisted reproduction techniques (ART).
Dosage/Direction for Use
SC 0.25 mg once daily starting on day 5 or 6 of FSH administration or on day 5 or 6 following corifollitropin alfa administration. COH w/ FSH or corifollitropin alfa may start at day 2 or 3 of menses.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to ganirelix, gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH) or any GnRH analogues. Moderate or severe renal or hepatic impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Orgalutran treatment is not advised in women w/ severe allergic conditions. Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome may occur during or following ovarian stimulation. Incidence of ectopic pregnancies might be increased in infertile women undergoing assisted reproduction. Incidence of congenital malformations after ART may be slightly higher than after spontaneous conceptions. Safety & efficacy have not been established in women weighing <50 kg or >90 kg.
Adverse Reactions
Local inj site reactions, malaise; headache; nausea; hypersensitivity reactions.
