Indications/Uses
Prevention & treatment of candidal infections of the oral cavity, oesophagus & intestinal tract. Prophylaxis against oral candidosis in infants born of mothers w/ vag candidosis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Denture sores & oral infections Adult Drop 1 mL into the mouth qds; should be kept in contact w/ the affected areas as long as possible. Intestinal & oral candidiosis Childn & infant Drop 1 mL into the mouth qds; should be kept in contact w/ the affected area in the mouth as long as possible before swallowing. Prophylaxis in the newborn 1 mL once daily. Prevention & treatment of candidiasis Continue dosage regimen for at least 48 hr after symptoms have disappeared.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swish & hold in the mouth for as long as possible before swallowing. Avoid eating/drinking earlier than 1 hr after a dose.
Special Precautions
Should not be used for treatment of systemic mycoses. Rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrase-isomaltase insufficiency. Contains small amounts of alcohol. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, GI distress, vomiting & diarrhoea. Hypersensitivity & angioedema; rash including urticaria; Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
