TabAdult 10 mg once daily. Moderate renal impairment (CrCl 30-49 mL/min) 5 mg once daily. Severe renal impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min) 5 mg once every 2 days. Adolescent >12 yr 10 mg once daily. Childn 6-12 yr 5 mg bd (½ tab bd). Oral solnAdult & adolescent ≥12 yr 10 mg once daily. Childn 6-12 yr w/ >30 kg wt 5 mg bd or 10 mg as single dose in the evening, ≤30 kg wt 5 mg once daily. 2-6 yr 2.5 mg bd (administered as 2.5 mL oral soln bd).
Concomitant intake of alcohol. Increased risk of urinary retention. Epileptic patients & patients at risk of convulsions. Wash-out period (3 days) is required before performing allergy skin test. Pruritus &/or urticaria may occur when cetirizine is stopped. Patients w/ renal & hepatic impairment. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended in childn <6 yr (tab), <2 yr (oral soln). Tab Galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Oral soln Hypersensitivity to methyl parahydroxybenzoate & propyl parahydroxybenzoate.
