Azelastine HCl
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic treatment of acute allergic conjunctivitis in adults.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1 drop in each eye twice daily in the morning & evening. May be increased up to 4 times daily. Max duration: 6 wk.
Special Precautions
Not suitable for treating eye infections. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if the patient has eye infections eg, only one eye is affected, vision is impaired, or the eye hurts & does not have any symptoms in the nose; the complaints worsen or last >48 hr w/o remarkable improvement; wears contact lenses. May affect ability to drive & use machines due to blurred vision for a short time after use. Not to be given to childn <12 yr w/ perennial allergic conjunctivitis; <4 yr w/ seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.
Adverse Reactions
Slight irritation eg, burning sensation, itchiness, watery discharge.
