Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of OA. Pain & inflammatory symptoms associated w/ acute gouty arthritis. Relief of chronic musculoskeletal pain; acute pain associated w/ dental surgery.
Dosage/Direction for Use
OA, chronic musculoskeletal pain 60 mg once daily. Post-op dental pain 90 mg once daily. Acute gouty arthritis 120 mg once daily. Max duration of treatment: 8 days. Moderate hepatic insufficiency (Child-Pugh score 7-9) Max: 60 mg daily, mild hepatic insufficiency (Child-Pugh score 5-6) 60 mg once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. CHF (NYHA II-IV); established ischemic heart disease; peripheral arterial disease &/or cerebrovascular disease (including patients who have recently undergone CABG surgery or angioplasty).
Special Precautions
Patients w/ known CV disease or risk factors for CV disease; HTN; fluid retention or heart failure. History of peptic ulcer or GI bleeding. Ped patients.
Adverse Reactions
Asthenia/fatigue, dizziness, lower extremity edema, HTN, dyspepsia, heartburn, nausea, headache, increased ALT/AST.
Drug Interactions
Concomitant use w/ warfarin, rifampicin, MTX, lithium, aspirin, OC, conjugated estrogen.
