In patients with blood dyscrasias, total and differential leukocyte counts must be monitored before and after therapy.
If there is irritation, use of drugs is decreased or stopped using it altogether. It is recommended not to have vaginal intercourse, and stop vaginal douche during therapy.
Caution in administration to patients with hepatic encephalopathy (it may cause high plasma concentrations of Metronidazole and cause symptoms of encephalopathy).
Peripheral neuropathy and epilepsy are serious side effects that may occur in the nervous system due to the high-dose or because of long-term usage of Metronidazole.
