Tramadol HCl
Indications/Uses
Severe acute & chronic pain, post-op pain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >16 yr 50 mg as single dose. May be increased in 50-mg increments at 30-60 min interval. Max: 400 mg daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Drug & opioid dependence; MAOI therapy; acute intoxication w/ alcohol, hypnotic, analgesic or other CNS agents.
Special Precautions
Head trauma, increased ICP, severely impaired kidney & liver function or bronchial hypersecretion; tendency of drug abuse, history of drug dependence or chronic opioid use. Concomitant use w/ CNS depressant or excessive dose may reduce pulmonary function. May impair the ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <16 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Dizziness, sedation, fatigue, headache, pruritus, sweating, skin redness, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, obstipation.
Drug Interactions
Tranquilizer & hypnotic.
