Indications/Uses
Peripheral neuropathies. Inj: Megaloblastic anaemia due to vit B12 deficiency.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Peripheral neuropathies Tab 1,500 mcg daily in 3 divided doses. IM/IV inj 500 mcg 3 times wkly. Megaloblastic anaemia IM/IV inj 500 mcg 3 times wkly. After about 2 mth, decrease dose to 500 mcg at 1-3 mth interval for maintenance therapy.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
IM/IV inj: Hypersensitivity to vit B12 or D-mannitol.
Special Precautions
Not to be used for extensive periods if there is no clinical response. Inj: Not to be inj to densely innervated site. Avoid exposure to direct light. Prematures, neonates, nursing infants, childn.
Adverse Reactions
Anorexia, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea. Rash; headache & hot sensation.
