Indications/Uses
Reduction of elevated IOP in patients w/ open-angle & chronic angle-closure glaucoma & ocular HTN.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 drop in affected eye(s) once daily in evening.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Increased iris pigmentation; eyelid & eyelash changes. Aphakic & pseudophakic patients w/ torn posterior lens cap or macular edema; history of recurrent herpetic keratitis & active herpes simplex keratitis; inflammatory neovascular glaucoma. Remove contact lens prior to administration & reinsert after 15 min. Administer at least 5 min apart if >1 topical ophth drug is being used. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Pregnancy & lactation. Paed <1 yr & preterm infants <36 wk gestation. Childn <3 yr w/ primary congenital glaucoma.
Adverse Reactions
Herpetic keratitis; dizziness, headache; eye irritation & pain, eyelash & eyelid vellus hair changes, ocular hyperaemia, iris hyperpigmentation, blepharitis, conjunctivitis, macular edema, photophobia, eyelid oedema, keratitis, uveitis, corneal oedema & erosions, iritis, punctate keratitis, trichiasis, blurred vision, periorbital & lid changes, darkening of eyelid palpebral skin, localised eyelid skin reaction, iris cyst, ocular conjunctiva pseudopemphigoid; angina, palpitations, unstable angina; asthma, dyspnoea, asthma aggravation, acute asthma attacks; vomiting, nausea; rash, pruritus; myalgia, arthralgia; chest pain.
Drug Interactions
Paradoxical IOP elevations w/ other prostaglandins, prostaglandin analogs or derivatives.
