Methylprednisolone aceponate
Indications/Uses
Endogenous eczema (atopic dermatitis, neurodermatitis), contact eczema, degenerative eczema, dyshidrotic eczema, nummular eczema, unclassified eczema, eczema in childn.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply thinly once daily to the diseased areas of skin for not >12 wk in adults & 4 wk in childn.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Tuberculous or syphilitic processes in the treated area; viral diseases (eg, varicella, herpes zoster), rosacea, perioral dermatitis, ulcera, acne vulgaris, atrophic skin diseases & postvaccination skin reactions in the treated area.
Special Precautions
Avoid contact w/ eyes, deep open wounds & mucosae. Increased risk of systemic side effects w/ extensive application to large areas of the body or for prolonged periods of time. Glaucoma may develop. Contains cetostearyl alcohol & butyl hydroxytoluene. Avoid during pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended for use in childn <3 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Application site burning & pruritus.
