Ambroxol HCl
Indications/Uses
Acute & chronic resp tract disorders associated w/ abnormal secretion in bronchitis, bronchial asthma, & bronchiectasis. Ease elimination of phlegm during nasopharyngeal inflammation.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab 30-120 mg in 2-3 divided doses. Syr Adult & childn >10 yr 10 mL tid. Childn 6-10 yr 5 mL tid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Rare hereditary conditions.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ history of peptic ulceration. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, oral & pharyngeal hypoesthesia, dry mouth & throat; dysgeusia; anaphylactic reactions.
