Amlodipine besilate
Indications/Uses
Management of HTN & angina pectoris.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Initially 5 mg once daily. Max: 10 mg once daily. Small, fragile, elderly or patient w/ hepatic insufficiency Initially 2.5 mg once daily. Doses may be used when adding to other antihypertensive therapy.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Patients receiving other peripheral dilators & in those w/ aortic stenosis, heart failure or severe hepatic disease.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, headache, flushing, hypotension, abdominal pain, peripheral edema, fatigue, dizziness, palpitation, rash.
Drug Interactions
May cause increased adverse cardiac effects as a result of myocardial depression w/ β-blockers.
