Acute diarrhea
Adult
Initially 4 mg followed by 2 mg after each loose stool. Usually 6-8 mg/day. Max: 16 mg/day.

May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ hepatic dysfunction, inflammatory bowel disease or pseudomembranous colitis; dysentery or constipation. Childn & not recommended for infants.
