Diphenhydramine hydrochloride.
Description
Each 5 mL (teaspoonful) contains diphenhydramine HCl 12.5 mg.
Indications/Uses
For the treatment of skin irritation in serum sickness, urticarial, hay fever, vasomotor rhinitis, nausea and vomiting, contact dermatitis, insect bites and parkinsonism.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Children 6 to 10 years: 25 mg to 50 mg twice daily. 1 to 5 years: 12.5 mg to 25 mg 3 to 4 times a day or as prescribed by the physician.
Contraindications
Premature and newborn infants, glaucoma, patients received MAO Inhibitors, asthma attack, hypersensitivity to diphenhydramine.
Special Precautions
Should be used with care in condition such as glaucoma and prostatic hypertrophy. Patients undergoing treatment with these drugs should abstain from alcohol and should not take chance of machineries or any vehicle since drowsiness may occur.
Storage
Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C. Protect from light.
