Miconazole nitrate
Indications/Uses
Mycotic infections of the skin & nails & super infections due to gm +ve bacteria.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Fungal infection of the skin Apply to lesions bid for 2-6 wk. If the powd is used w/ the cream, a once daily application of both formulation is recommended. Nail infection Apply to lesions once daily or bid for 10 days after all lesions have disappeared.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Do not come in contact w/ the mucosa of the eyes. Severe hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis & angioedema. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Skin burning sensation, inflammation & hypopigmentation; application site irritation, burning, pruritus, reactions NOS & warmth. Anaphylactic reaction, hypersensitivity; angioedema, urticaria, contact dermatitis, rash, erythema, pruritus.
