Citicoline Na
Indications/Uses
Cerebrovascular disorders (including ischaemic stroke), parkinsonism & head injury. Cap: To increase blood flow & O2 consumption in brain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cap 500 mg once daily or bid. FC tab 1 g once daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Not to be administered to patients w/ hypertonia of the parasympathetic nervous system.
Special Precautions
Large doses may aggravate increase in cerebral blood flow in episodes of persistent intracranial hemorrhage. Pregnancy & lactation. Cap: Patients w/ acute, severe & progressive disturbances, intracranial pressure relieving drugs or who use measures to keep body temp low. FC tab: Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Cap: Increased parasympathetic effects, fleeting & discrete hypotensor effect. FC tab: Bradycardia, tachycardia, hypotension; diarrhea, epigastric distress, stomach pain; dizziness, headache, fatigue; rash.
Drug Interactions
Potentiated effects of L-dopa. Not to be administered w/ meclofenoxate.
