May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Patients w/ biliary obstructive disorders or hepatic insufficiency. Patients whose renal function may depend on the activity of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (eg, patients w/ severe CHF). Patients w/ unilateral or bilateral renal artery stenosis. Closely monitor renal function. Not recommended in concomitant use w/ ramipril. Lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
URTI, back pain, sinusitis, diarrhea, pharyngitis. Flu-like symptoms, dyspepsia, myalgia, UTI, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, pain, fatigue, coughing, HTN, chest pain, nausea, peripheral edema.
Drug Interactions
Median increases in digoxin peak plasma & trough conc. Reversible increases in serum lithium conc & toxicity. Increased steady-state Cmax & AUC, possible additive pharmacodynamic effects & increased exposure of ramipril & ramiprilat. Decreased Cmax & AUC w/ ramipril & ramiprilat. Slightly decreased mean warfarin trough plasma conc.
