Action
This medicine contains the active ingredients Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, a cough suppressant and Guaifenesin, an expectorant.
Indications/Uses
Robitussin DM temporarily relieves cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation as may occur with a cold and expectorant actions to help loosen phlegm and thin bronchial secretion to make cough more productive. It also helps relieve chest congestion.

Missed Dose: This medicine needs to be given on a fixed schedule. Take the missed dose as soon as the patient remembers. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue the regular dosing schedule. Do not take double dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdosage
Nausea and vomiting; depressed level of consciousness, dizziness, dysarthria (speech difficulty), myoclonus (involuntary muscle twitching), nystagmus (involuntary eyeball motion), somnolence, tremors; excitability, confusional state, psychotic disorder; respiratory depression.
In case of accidental overdose, discontinue use and seek professional assistance immediately.
Contraindications
This product is containdicated in patients who are allergic (hypersensitive) to its active ingredient or other components of the product.
Taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), or other medications for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions or Parkinson's disease, or for 2 weeks after stopping the medication. If the patient is not sure if the patient's prescription medication contains one of these drugs, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
Do not use in children under 2 years of age.
Special Precautions
Patients are advised to ask a doctor if they have chronic cough such as occurs with smoking or chronic lung disease such as asthma or emphysema.
Do not exceed recommended daily dose.
Adverse Reactions
Individuals may experience undesirable effects such as nausea and vomiting. Hypersensitivity may also occur.
Drug Interactions
Do not use if the patient is currently on or 2 weeks after stopping the medications for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease e.g., monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). If the patient is not sure if the patient's prescription medication contains one of these drugs, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product.
Storage
Store at a temperatures not exceeding 25°C, away from direct sunlight.

When should a patient consult a doctor?: As with any medication, women who are pregnant or breast-feeding should seek the advice of a doctor before using the product.
Discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional if cough lasts more than 10 days, comes back or if it occurs with fever, rash, or constant headaches.
