Contents
Vitamin B-complex.
Description
Each tablet contains vitamins B1 (thiamine HCl) 250 mg, B6 (pyridoxine HCl) 250 mg and B12 (cyanocobalamin) 500 mcg.
Indications/Uses
Prevention and treatment of vitamin B1, B6 and B12 deficiencies due to increased requirements, reduced intake or reduced absorption.
Clinical forms of vitamins B1, B6 and B12 deficiencies include: Neuritis/Neuropathies and polyneuritis/poly-neuropathies due to vitamins B1, B6 or B12 deficiencies, to metabolic dysfunction (e.g. in diabetes) or to treatment/intoxication caused by drugs (such as isoniazid, D-penicillamine and other vitamin B6 antagonists); As an adjuvant in neuralgia, sciatica, lumbago (B12-containing preparations only); convulsions caused by drugs of the semicarbazid, thiosemicarbazid or isoniazid-type or by convulsions due to vitamin B6 deficiency; Cardiomyopathies due to vitamin B1 deficiency (beriberi heart); As adjuvant in postoperative vomiting; As adjuvant in radiation sickness; Acute and chronic alcohol intoxication.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adults and children over 12 years old: Take 1 film-coated tablet daily.
The product is usually taken for one to up to several weeks. In some cases, the physician can prolong the duration of treatment for up to some months.
Should be taken orally and swallowed whole with fluid.
Overdosage
There is no evidence that this product can lead to an overdose when used as recommended.
Symptoms with overdose include nausea, headache, sensory and/or peripheral neuropathy, neuropathy syndromes, paraesthesia, somnolence, increased serum AST (SGOT) and decreased serum folic acid concentrations.
The effects are in general reversible when treatment is stopped.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or to any of the excipients in the product.
Pregnancy and lactation.
Children below 12 years of age.
Renal or hepatic insufficiency.
Special Precautions
The labeled dosage and treatment duration should not be exceeded. Serious neurotoxicity may be associated with overdose.
Adverse Reactions
The listed adverse drug reactions are based on spontaneous reports. Because these reactions are reported voluntarily, it is not possible to estimate their frequency.
Gastrointestinal disorders: Diarrhea, dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting gastrointestinal and abdominal pain.
Immune system disorders: Allergic reaction, anaphylactic reaction, and anaphylactic reaction shock.
Hypersensitivity reactions with respective laboratory and clinical manifestations include asthma syndrome, mild to moderate reactions affecting either skin, and/or respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, and/or cardiovascular system. Symptoms may include rash, urticarial, angioedema, pruritus, and cardio-respiratory distress, and severe reactions, including anaphylactic shock have been reported.
If an allergic reaction occurs, treatment must be stopped and a health care professional consulted.
Storage
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.
