Adult 500 mg daily for 3 days. Alternatively, initially 500 mg followed by 250 mg daily for a further 4 days. Uncomplicated genital infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis & for chancroid 1,000 mg as single dose.
May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals to reduce GI discomfort.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances. Headache, somnolence, taste disturbance. Severe hypersensitivity reactions (rarely). Pain & inflammation at the site of IV infusions particularly at high conc.
