Depression, including that accompanied by anxiety.

Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 75-150 mg daily in divided doses. Maintenance: 25-100 mg daily in divided doses.
Hospitalized patient
100 mg/day initially & gradually increased to 200-300 mg/day.
Adolescent & elderly patient
Initially 20-30 mg/day in divided doses w/ gradual increments.

May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Immediate recovery phase after MI, heart block. Mania. Patients receiving MAOIs. Acute CHF.

Dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention, blurred vision, narrow-angle glaucoma, impotence, drowsiness, dizziness, sweating, weakness, fatigue, epileptiform seizures, orthostatic hypotension, palpitation, tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmia, extrapyramidal symptoms, endocrine effects.
