Closely supervise patients for 15 min following inj. Patients w/ CV disease; suffering from epilepsy or brain lesions; history of asthma or other allergic disorders. Use of diagnostic contrast media should be restricted to hospitals/clinics staffed for intensive care emergencies & where CPR equipment is readily available. Do not use in patients w/ history of sensitivity to benzyl alcohol. As w/ other other gadolinium-chelates, contrast-enhanced MRI should not be performed w/in 7 hr of MultiHance-enhanced MRI exam. Avoid local extravasation during IV administration. Use the lowest effective dose & carefully perform benefit risk assessment before administering repeated doses. Screen patients for renal dysfunction by obtaining lab tests prior to administration. Avoid in patients w/ severe renal impairment (GFR <30 mL/min/1.73m
2) & peri-op liver transplantation. Pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended in childn <2 yr (brain & spine MRI); <18 yr (liver & breast MRI or MRA). Elderly ≥65 yr.
