Description
Tropex Ear Drops contains phenazone 5%.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: Methyl Parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and Glycerol.
Action
Tropex Ear Drops contains Phenazone which is an analgesic (pain killer) and an anti-inflammatory agent. Glycerol is used to soften ear wax.
Indications/Uses
The patient has been recommended to use Tropex Ear Drops for relief of symptoms associated with inflammation of the ear. Glycerol will soften any hard wax and help remove same.
Dosage/Direction for Use
When and how does the patient use Tropex Ear Drops?: Tropex Ear Drops is for topical use into the external auditory canal. Usually 4-6 drops should be introduced into the ear three or four times daily according to the severity of the inflammation.
What should the patient do if she/she forgets to use Tropex Ear Drops?: Use the ear drops as recommended, as soon as the patient remember then go on as before. Do not use more than 3-4 times daily.
Overdosage
If the patient administers more than the recommended amount seek medical advice immediately. Contact the doctor or nearest hospital casualty department and if possible take the ear drops.
Contraindications
The patient should not use Tropex Ear Drops if the patient has a perforated ear drum or if the patient is allergic to any of the ingredients.
Warnings
This medicine has been recommended for the patient only. It should not be given to anyone else. The product could harm them even if their symptoms are the same.
Special Precautions
If there is no improvement within 24 hours the patient should consult the doctor. If there is an infection present the patient should also consult the doctor.
Adverse Reactions
No side effects have been reported with the use of this product.
If the patient experiences any undesirable effects, tell the doctor immediately.
Caution For Usage
If the doctor decides to stop treatment, or the patient finds the patients has Tropex Ear Drops after the expiry date, return the product to the local pharmacist who will dispose of it properly.
Storage
It is best to keep Tropex Ear Drops in the original container provided and sealed with the dropper cap.
Do not store above 25°C. Tropex Ear Drops should not be refrigerated.
