Per 500 mL L-leucine 7 g, L-isoleucine 4 g, L-valine 4 g, lysine acetate 7.40 g (L-lysine equiv 5.25 g), L-threonine 2.85 g, L-tryptophan 1 g, L-methionine 1.95 g, L-phenylalanine 3.5 g, L-cysteine 0.5 g, L-tyrosine 0.25 g, L-arginine 5.25 g, L-histidine 2.5 g, L-alanine 4 g, L-proline 2.5 g, L-serine 1.5 g, aminoacetic acid 2.95 g, L-aspartic acid 0.5 g, L-glutamic acid 0.5 g. Total free amino acids 50 g, essential amino acids 29.55 g, non-essential amino acids 20.45 g, total nitrogen 7.85 g, branched-chain amino acids 30% w/w, Na 2 mEq/L, acetate 120 mEq/L
Indications/Uses
Amino acid supply in hypoproteinemia, malnutrition & pre- &/or post-op condition.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Central vein infusion: 400-800 mL daily. Peripheral vein infusion: 200-400 mL/dose. Infusion rate: 100 mL over 60 min (25 drops/min).
Contraindications
Patients w/ or risk of hepatic coma, severely impaired renal function or risk of hypernatremia, abnormal amino acid metabolism.
Special Precautions
Slowly administer the infusion. Patients w/ severe acidosis, CHF, hyponatremia. Immature infants, newborns, infants.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity; chest discomfort, palpitation; nausea, vomiting; increased GOT, GPT & total bilirubin; increased BUN; acidosis (large dose); chills, fever, hot flush, headache, vascular pain.
