Each sachet (20ml) contains Dioctahedral smectite 3 g.
Pharmacology: DEHECTA possesses a coating property on the gastrointestinal mucosa. By interacting with glycoproteins of mucus, DEHECTA increases the resistance of the mucosal gel. DEHECTA protects the gastrointestinal mucosa by its action on the gastrointestinal mucous barrier and its high binding capacity.
Pharmacokinetics: DEHECTA is not absorbed. It is eliminated through the faeces.
DEHECTA is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea.
In children: under the age of 1 year: 1 sachet (20 ml) a day, in 2 divided doses.
1 to 2 years: 1 to 2 sachets (20-40 ml) a day, in 3 divided doses.
Over the age of 2 years: 2 to 3 sachets (40-60 ml) a day, in 2-3 divided doses.
In adults: 3-4 sachets (60-80 ml) a day, in 3-4 divided doses.
In acute diarrhea, the daily dosage can be doubled at the beginning of treatment.
Drink water after taking this drug or take with semi-liquids such as soup, infant food, fruits, etc.
DEHECTA is contraindicated for patient with intestinal occlusion or have an allergy to Dioctahedral smectite.
DEHECTA is not a rehydration therapy.
Aggravation of constipation has been reported. Therefore, treatment may be continued after decreasing the dosage.
Due to the adsorbent properties of this product may interfere with the rates and/or levels of absorption of other substances. It is recommended not to administer any other drug at the same time as DEHECTA.
Store in a tight container at the room temperature (30°C).
Shelf-Life: 36 months from manufacturing date.
