Na hyaluronate
Indications/Uses
Dry eye & ocular surface damage due to some conditions &/or diseases eg, post-op surgeries (cataract surgery, LASIK), prolonged use of preservative-containing eye drops eg, antiglaucoma drugs. Superficial keratitis, Sjögren's syndrome or primary dry eye syndrome (keratoconjunctivitis sicca). Temporary relief of dryness, burning & ocular fatigue induced eg, by dust smoke, dry heat, air conditioning, extended computer screen use or contact lens wear.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1-2 drops into conjunctival sac of the eye as often as needed.
Contraindications
Known or suspected hypersensitivity to Na hyaluronate or other hyaluronate acid-containing medications.
Special Precautions
Topical ophth use only. Persistent discomfort during or reappearance after discontinuation of treatment. Concomitant use w/ other eye drops. May affect ability to drive & use machine. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Dry eye, eye pain, irritation & pruritus, foreign-body sensation, reduced visual acuity, blurred vision, ocular hyperemia, eyelid margin crusting.
Drug Interactions
Modified effects w/ other eye drugs or products. Avoid use w/ quaternary ammon compd.
