Adult & childn ≥6 yr 1 tab once daily in the evening. Renal impairment in adult& childn ≥12 yr:Mild (CrCl 50-80 mL/min) ½ tab once daily,moderate (CrCl 30-50 mL/min) ½ tab once every other day, severe (CrCl 10-30 mL/min)½ tab twice wkly (administer once every 3-4 days).
View Levocet overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to levocetirizine or cetirizine. Patients w/ ESRD (CrCl <10 mL/min) or undergoing hemodialysis. Renal impairment in childn 6 mth to 11 yr.
Discontinue treatment if urinary retention occurs. Patients w/ predisposing factors of urinary retention (eg, spinal cord lesion, prostatic hyperplasia. Avoid concomitant use w/ alcohol or other CNS depressants. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy. Not recommended during lactation.
