Each tablet contains pepsin 180 mg, diastase 30 mg, papain 60 mg, thiamine HCl 2 mg, pancreatin 20 mg, extract of gentian 20 mg, activated charcoal 90 mg.
The preparation is composed of pepsin, diastase, pancreatin and papain enzyme for the digestive system.
Pepsin is the proteolytic enzyme secreted by the gastric glands. It functions in the initial stages of the digestion of protein.
Diastase is used as a digestant for starchy food.
Pancreatin is a substance containing enzymes, principally pancreatic amylase, trypsin and pancreatic lipase, obtained from the pancreas. Pancreatin digests starch, proteins and fats.
Papain is enzyme complex derived from Carcica papaya It is useful for hydrolyzing a number of proteins to amino acids or low molecular weight peptides. It has been used as a digestant for protein-containing foods. According to the functions of the active ingredients, PEPSITASE is useful for the treatment of digestive disorders.
Indications/Uses
For dyspepsia and ailment due to indigestion.
Dosage/Direction for Use
2 tablets immediately after meals or as directed by physician. Method of Administration: Oral.
Contraindications
Do not use Pepsitase in patients with known hypersensitivity to this drug.

Adverse Reactions
Pepsitase may color stool black.
Oral administration may cause: Feeling of warmth, pruritus, urticaria, weakness, sweating, nausea, restlessness, tightness of the throat, angioneurotic edema, cyanosis, pulmonary edema, hemorrhage into the GI tract, cardiovascular collapse.
Excessive dosage of Pepsitase may cause diarrhea or other transient intestinal upset.
