View Residron overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take before breakfast or at least 30 min before the 1st food/drink/med of
the day. Take w/ a full glass (≥120 mL) of plain water while in an
upright position. Do not lie down for at least 30 min after taking.
Swallow whole, do not chew/crush/suck.
History of oesophageal disorders. Patients w/ inability to remain in an upright position for at least 30 min after taking Residron. Active or recent oesophageal or upper GI problems. Treat hypocalcemia & other bone & mineral metabolism disturbances prior to therapy. Consider dental exam w/ appropriate preventive dentistry prior to treatment. Dental surgery. Childn & adolescents.
Decreased absorption w/ antacids or mineral supplements containing divalent cations (eg, Al, Ca, Mg). Decreased levels/effects by NSAIDs & aminoglycosides. Increase levels/effects of phosphate supplements.
