Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to framycetin or other aminoglycoside antibacterials (neomycin, kanamycin). Perforated tympanic membrane (otic).
Special Precautions
Children. Pregnancy and lactation. Patient Counselling Ophthalmic: This drug may cause blurred vision, if affected, do not drive or operate machinery. If you are wearing contact lenses, remove prior to application and reinsert after 15 minutes. Monitoring Parameters Monitor improvement of infection/symptoms.
Adverse Reactions
Significant: Bacterial or fungal superinfection (prolonged use). Ear and labyrinth disorders: Inner ear damage. Eye disorders: Eye irritation, superficial punctate keratitis, delayed corneal epithelial wound healing, retinal toxicity (if there is leakage through corneoscleral wound). Immune system disorders: Hypersensitivity reactions.
