Description
Each film-coated tablet contains atorvastatin calcium propylene glycol solvate 11, 22, 44 or 88 mg equivalent to atorvastatin 10, 20, 40 or 80 mg.
Atorvastatin tablets also contains the following excipients: Calcium acetate, croscarmellose sodium, sodium carbonate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, polyethylene glycol, titanium dioxide.
Atorvastatin calcium propylene glycol solvate is (3R, 5R)-7-[2-(4-flurophenyl)-5-(1-methylethyl)-3-phenyl-4-[(phenylamino) carbonyl]-1H-pyrrole-1-yl]-3, 5-dihydroxy-1-heptanoic acid, calcium salt (2:1), propylene glycol solvate. It has a molecular formula C69H76CaF2N4O12 and a molecular weight of 1,231.45 g/mol.
Atorvastatin calcium propylene glycol solvate is a white to off-white crystalline powder that is practically insoluble in aqueous solutions of pH 4 and below. It is very slightly soluble in distilled water, phosphate buffer pH 7.4 and acetonitrile; slightly soluble in ethanol and freely soluble in methanol.
